John O’Sullivan: The Indispensable Margaret Thatcher

PCTR was a co-organizer of the first CEVRO University Annual Lecture that took place on November 18th 2025. Due to the fact that this year we celebrate a centenary of Magaret Thatcher’s birthday, our guest of honour was John O’Sullivan who served as a special advisor and a speechwriter to Prime Minister Thatcher. Later he was a founder and co-chairman of the New Atlantic Initiative that played a major role in bringing the Central European countries into NATO.

“Margaret Thatcher died in April 2013. She is still close to us. Historical judgements about her are still likely to be controversial. But it is was clear that Margaret Thatcher had left a legacy. That is not as normal, let alone as inevitable, as you might suppose.” – John O’Sullivan started his address.
