General Alexus G. Grynkewich assumed duties as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) on July 4, 2025. As SACEUR, Gen. Grynkewich commands Allied Command Operations, which is responsible for the conduct of all NATO military operations. He also serves as the Commander of United States European Command. He is also responsible for one of two U.S. forward-deployed geographic combatant commands whose area of focus spans across Europe, portions of Asia and the Middle East, and the Arctic and Atlantic oceans.
General Grynkewich is a command pilot with more than 2,300 hours in 16 aircraft. Prior to his current assignment he served as Director for Operations, J-3, (Joint Staff), Washington, D.C.
General Karel Řehka is the current Chief of the General Staff of the Military of the Czech Republic. In the past he served – among others – as the deputy commander of the NATO Multinational Division Northeast in Elbląg or the director of the the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB).
