About the book God, Whose is This Land?

This time Tuvia Tenenbom, an exceptionally popular author in Czechia, spent a year among the people whom the world calls despicable. What are they really like? What do they do? And what do they want?

Welcome to the world of the Jewish settlers on the West Bank, in a land that belongs to… well, God knows who. The Palestinians want it, and really, so do the Jews. Both of them live here. The mainstream media writes about the settlers, but nobody knows anything about them. Are the settlers really Israeli devils and their neighbours Palestinian angels?

On his journey through the Holy Land, Tuvia Tenenbom meets madmen, false prophets, true ones, visionaries, farmers, reviled politicians, Jews and Arabs. He poses clever and seemingly naive questions to all of them, provoking them to reveal what they really think.

Afterwards, as long as he’s not dodging Iranian rockets, he pieces together a picture that is extraordinarily witty and, at the same time, an alarming report on the world of the settlements on the West Bank, or—if you like—in Judea & Samaria.

At a time when the Israeli-Arab conflict is shaking the world, this book has the power to open your eyes. Because if there’s one thing Tuvia Tenenbom isn’t, it’s politically correct.

Tuvia Tenenbom was born in Israel in 1957, grew up in an Orthodox Jewish family, and was destined to become a rabbi, like his father. However, in his youth he left for the United States and settled in New York. More information about his books published in Czech can be found here: www.knihyzed.cz
