BOOK LAUNCH: Invasion: Russia’s Bloody War and Ukraine’s Fight for Survival

Prague Center for Transatlantic Relations, CEVRO Institute hosted a discussion with Luke Harding on Thursday, March 2 at 17:00, CEVRO Institute, Jungmannova 28, Praha 1.

The Czech translation of his latest book Invasion: Russia’s Bloody War and Ukraine’s Fight for Survival (Invaze: Ruská krvavá válka a ukrajinský boj o přežití) was launched at this event, co-organized with ZEĎ Publishing House.

Luke Harding is a journalist, writer, and award-winning foreign correspondent with The Guardian.
Between 2007 and 2011, he was the Guardian’s Moscow bureau chief. The Kremlin expelled him from the country in the first case of its kind since the Cold War and, in the
summer of 2022, put him on an official blacklist.
He is the author of eight previous nonfiction books: Shadow State: Murder, Mayhem, and Russia’s Remaking of the WestCollusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump WinA Very Expensive Poison: The Assassination of Alexander Litvinenko and Putin’s War with the WestThe Snowden Files: The Inside Story

Two have been made into Hollywood movies. DreamWorks’ The Fifth Estate, based on WikiLeaks, was released in 2013. Oliver Stone’s biopic Snowden, adapted from The Snowden Files, appeared in 2016.
An award-winning stage version of Poison, written by Lucy Prebble, premiered in 2019 at London’s Old Vic Theatre. Harding’s books have been translated into thirty languages
