Jak bojovat proti strachu? Efektivní komunikace v době krize

8.09.2025

A discussion with Avital Sahar, a leading Israeli expert on political and strategic communication, crisis messaging, cognitive warfare, and campaign strategy took place on September 8 at CEVRO University.

The event was moderated by Tomáš Jirsa and organized in cooperation with ELNET, the European Leadership Network.

In an age of uncertainty, effective communication is no longer a luxury-it is a survival tool. Just weeks before the Czech elections, Avital Sahar, one of Israel’s leading experts on political and strategic communication, will explore how leaders and societies can navigate instability through words, strategy, and trust. Drawing on his experience, Avital will analyze the latest trends in European political campaigns and reflect on Israel’s ongoing communication battle with Hamas, asking why Hamas often succeeds in shaping the narrative and what that teaches us about the vulnerabilities of democratic societies. This timely discussion will shed light on how fear can be confronted, narratives reshaped, and resilience built in a turbulent world.

With over 20 years of experience, Avital Sahar is recognized as one of Israel’s leading strategic campaign managers and a top expert in offensive and defensive public perception management. Sahar has worked, both overtly and discreetly—with senior figures in Israel’s political and business leadership on numerous high-stakes political campaigns, including general elections for Likud, Kadima, and New Hope. He has advised key political leaders such as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, prominent former officials from Israel’s intelligence and defense sectors (including ‚Commanders for Israel’s Security‘ and the ‚Council for Peace and Security‘), as well as leading venture capital firms (notably JVP and Erel Margalit), municipalities, mayors, and major labor unions.“Sahar previously served as Vice Chairman of the Democrat Youth Community of Europe (DEMYC) and has been significantly involved in strategic public perception initiatives in Europe and Africa over recent years.
Based in Berlin, Sahar regularly lectures at private and institutional forums across the EU on advanced, out-of-the-box cognitive warfare strategies. In addition, he leads several strategic OSINT projects, including sensitive initiatives of national and global significance. These projects are designed to generate strategic insights and impact, and involve the collection, analysis, and cross-referencing of information from open sources. Conducted under conditions of uncertainty, they address complex legal and ethical considerations and are characterized by a systemic approach that integrates geopolitical, social, and digital contexts.
